While I am enjoying Auckland greatly, and could imagine being here a while, like yourself I still call Chch home and probably always will. Hell I call Fukushima home more than Auckland. One thing I find annoying about wherever you go in NZ, something Wellington is worse than Auckland for, is this general attitude that if you are from the South Island then you must be secretly glad to be somewhere clearly superior and its only a matter of time before you start calling that place home and supporting the Hurricanes or whatever ( to be sure loved supporting the Phoenix!). I find something almost instantly grounds me when I arrive back in Christchurch, or Fukushima. Despite the fact I don’t intend to reside in either place long-term!!

Also to say you’ve done nothing with your life ignores the numerously many times you’ve made a lot of people smile, laugh or feel better about themselves.
